If you would like to export a single message, select it, and choose File | Save as. You can choose to save the file in the following formats: HTML (any browser can view it), eml (many email programs should be able to view it), text (any browser or text editor should be able to view it.)
If you would like to export multiple messages, the process is different (and not as easy). Although Mozilla currently is unable to export multiple messages (using the method described above), you can accomplish this by doing one of the following:
A)If you have Adobe PDF writer, you could print a group of messages to a single PDF file. ( A free PDF writer is available from http://www.pdfmailer.com )
B)Follow the following steps:
1)Create new email folder, under your Local Folders list.
2)Copy your email files from your email folder (which is contained in your Profile folder) into this new folder.
3)If you would like to export these emails to a new email account, copy the entire folder to mail folder under this account.
4)If you would like to export them to another mailbox format, or document format, you can use an email utility such as Mailbag Assistant from Fookes Software (http://www.fookes.com ) (This software is currently only available for Windows. Linux users can try WINE to use it.)

If you would like to group messages with the same subject together (thread them), click on the little threading icon (thread.gif).
This may result in your messages being grouped together, but sorted from oldest to newest (oldest messages on top, newest messages on the bottom).
If you would like to *keep your messages grouped* AND also sort them from newest to oldest, then just click the threading icon again.
This should do the trick.
(If you click on the Date header (date.gif) instead, your messages will become ungrouped, yet sorted by date.)
